Children Unique Christian Daycare Center is a family owned and operated establishment.

Children Unique Christian Daycare Center is a family owned and operated establishment. Children Unique was licensed in January of 1997 with a licensed capacity of 24 children. Additional expansions grew the business to 95 children in its Deans Bridge Road location and the opening of a second facility in May of 2004 in Appling, Georgia. The Appling center has a current licensing capacity of 105. In June of 2008, Children Unique opened a state-of-the-art facility at 2440 Windsor Spring Road. The new center, licensed for 172 children, replaced the Deans Bridge Road location.

Mrs. Janie, CEO, said she never wanted to be a babysitter, teacher, or domestic worker, yet she found herself in all those roles as the owner of not just one, but two childcare centers.

The desire to start a childcare center was born out of the frustration of seeing a trend of daycare centers and homes which lacked quality and left parents feeling very insecure about the already overwhelming challenge of leaving their children in the care of others. After much time and many obstacles the dream was finally realized when mother Janie, and daughters Verwanda Childress, Virginia Patterson, and Charlene Middleton decided to start out as a daycare home provider in Mrs. Davis' home in June of 1996. Fueled by the retirement funds of Mrs. Davis who departed the U.S. Postal Service, our dream became a reality.

Children Unique was licensed in January of 1997 with a licensed capacity of 24 children.

By July the center was bursting out of the seams, and the family set out to find a piece of property that could be easily transformed into a daycare center. We ventured out not too far from the home and spotted our current location, not so easily transformed, but a joy and a success just the same.

We received our occupancy permit in December and were fully operating by January 1997 and bursting out of the seams again by February. We expanded on the property by adding on 3 portables one by one, each time bursting at the seams in demand for the next unit.

In early 2004, a childcare center in Appling, GA, became available and our growth continued. We consistently thrive from word of mouth referrals of our pleased families who love our excellent service with a down-home appeal.
